The Arkansas Razorbacks gave the #15 ranked Texas Longhorns a sneak preview of what life could be like when they join the SEC in a few years. In front of 74,531, Arkansas fans let Texas hear it early and often. The Hogs dominated both sides of the line and put up 333 yards rushing with 138 yards to Texas’ total of 256 yards.
In the first half, Arkansas started the scoring with a 24 yard fg by Cam Little and added a 5 yard td run by Dominique Johnson. Cam Little added 2 more fgs in the 2nd quarter to send the Hogs to the locker room 16-0.

The 2nd half started with a 3 and out by the Longhorns but the Hogs gave it right back 2 plays later on a KJ Jefferson interception. Texas took that turnover and 6 plays later turned it into a 1 yard Bijan Robinson touchdown to cut the lead to 16-7. But the Hogs answered right back with a 1 Trelon Smith touchdown run.
The Hogs added another fg after Texas turned it over on downs to go up 26-7. On Texas’ next play, Hog Zach Williams caused qb Hudson Card to fumble and the Hogs were in business at the Longhorn 26 yard line. On the follow play, Raheim Sanders took it to the house to go up 33-7.
Texas switched to backup qb Casey Thompson on the next series and he lead them down the field and scored on a 5 yard keeper. The Hogs answered by going to the ground game and while also chewing up over 5 minutes of clock. Running back AJ Green capped that drive off with a 30 yard touchdown run, making it 40-14.

Texas stayed with Casey Thompson and he took Texas 75 yards down the field in 6 minutes scoring on a 2 yard keeper to finish the game’s scoring. As soon as the clock hit zeros, fans stormed the field amid chants of, “SEC! SEC!”.

Up next for the Hogs is another home game vs Georgia Southern. That game kicks off at 3 pm on the SEC Network. Texas returns home to regroup and face Arkansas’ first opponent, Rice. That game is on the Longhorn Network at 7 pm.
